PALFINGER MARINE delivers a range of constant tension (CT) winches.
Constant tension (CT) is used to achieve a constant line-pull set by the operator. PALFINGER delivers various models of constant tension winches where either the line-pull is measured by a load cell (high end CT winches) or by the software in our frequency converters (light CT winches, electrical driven). If the actual value differs from the preset value the winch will pay in or pay out wire rope to maintain the preset value. Instant adjustment of the cable tension is possible by changing the tension setpoint value. PALFINGER's constant tension winches are normally delivered with a pull from 5-40 tonnes. Other models are available on request.
PALFINGER also supplies constant tension winches for lifting purposes. These winches are delivered according to DNV Lifting Appliances and are more powerful than our "standard" CT winch models. Constant tension lifting winches are supplied to clients where active heave compensation (AHC) is not required.
