PALFINGER is looking for a Certified Customs Specialist to lead tariff and customs compliance across our North American operations. In this key role, you’ll ensure adherence to international trade laws while optimizing import and export processes for the U.S. and Canada. Your Resposibilities
- Own the product classification process using HS codes, making sure every detail meets global customs standards.
- Stay ahead of ever-changing trade laws and lead the charge on full compliance across U.S. and Canadian borders.
- Spot opportunities to cut costs and reduce duties, helping us move smarter and more efficiently.
- Handle all import/export documents with precision and keep our customs records audit-ready at all times.
- Be the go-to expert for customs questions—collaborating across teams, guiding brokers, and empowering colleagues with practical training.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field—or 10+ years of hands-on experience in customs operations and tariff management.
- Certified Customs Specialist or similar credential; USMCA Specialist or Professional certification strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of customs regulations, tariff codes, international trade laws, trade agreements, and duty drawback processes.
- Strong analytical mindset, sharp attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to navigate cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficient in customs software and MS Office; multilingual abilities are a plus in our global environment.
