Join PALFINGER as our Regional Environmental, Health & Safety Director to champion EHS programs across our U.S. manufacturing sites, driving consistency and compliance at every level. This high-impact role calls for a strong communicator and inspiring leader who can guide teams and individuals in creating a safe, secure, and sustainable workplace. Reporting to the VP of Operations – North America, this position offers a competitive compensation package, career growth opportunities, and is preferably based in Council Bluffs, IA or Oklahoma City, OK.
Your Responsibilities

Lead the implementation, management, and monitoring of PALFINGER’s EHS and security programs across multiple U.S. manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Supervise one direct report and provide guidance to 4–6 indirect reports, supporting their development and offering performance feedback to both team members and their managers.

Partner with site leaders and plant committees to build a strong safety culture and integrate EHS best practices into daily operations.

Conduct site visits to drive continuous improvement through behavioral audits, incident prevention, and hands-on support with location-specific programs.

Collaborate with HR and TPAs to manage and reduce workers’ compensation claims, while promoting employee well-being.

Maintain consistent communication with leadership through clear, timely reports on EHS performance, priorities, and progress.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, or a related field, with at least 5 years of progressive experience managing EHS functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to safety, health, and environmental requirements, with CSP certification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement across diverse locations while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Solid judgment and decision-making skills, with a focus on accountability, integrity, and a customer-oriented approach.
- Ability to travel up to 75%, adapt to change, work independently, and manage time effectively in fast-paced environments.
